Participation in the Legal Colloquia of the National Bank of Romania – 31st Edition

Attorney-at-law, PhD Dan-Adrian Cărămidariu, member of the CDB Legal team, participated in the Legal Colloquia of the National Bank of Romania – 31st Edition, held on March 27, 2026, at the headquarters of the National Bank of Romania – Timiș Regional Branch. The event, organized by the National Bank of Romania, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law of the West University of Timișoara and the Timisoara Center for Business Law, brought together specialists from academia, practitioners and experts in the financial and banking field.

Within the conference, entitled \"From Reinventing Money to Redefining the Role of Banks. The Contribution of Law\", attorney-at-law, PhD Dan-Adrian Cărămidariu delivered the presentation entitled \"When the Deposit No Longer Stays Still. A Few Reflections on the Digital Representation of Value in Banking Relationships\". The intervention addressed the transformations generated by the digitalisation of financial instruments and its impact on the legal nature of the bank deposit.

The presentation analysed the way in which the new forms of digital representation of value influence the relationships between credit institutions and clients, highlighting the legal challenges associated with redefining traditional concepts in banking law. At the same time, the implications of these developments for the stability of the financial system and for the role of banks in a continuously changing economic context were discussed.

Participation in this event reflects the constant concern for the critical analysis of developments in the field of financial and banking law, as well as for the integration of new technological realities into the conceptual framework of classical legal institutions.
